3 Minutes to Escape…

How long do you have to escape a housefire?

In as little as 30 seconds a small, harmless flame can ignite into a raging fire that threatens your entire home and family.

Did you know that “fires kill more Americans each year than all natural disaster in the United States combined”?

-Glenn Gaines, Deputy U.S. Fire Administrator

But even more surprising… thirty years ago you’d have on average 14 to 17 minutes to escape a housefire. Today, it’s closer to 2 to 3 minutes.

Why? Because of the materials we use to build homes. These new synthetic materials and cheap lumber are far more flammable than the old stuff.

But there’s a massive problem… we have 2 to 3 minutes to escape but we use cheap smoke detectors that can take 30 or more minutes to detect smoke. Our smoke detectors are simply not good enough.

That’s why we built Luna. Luna detects smoke faster, and sends the fire department for you in the event of an emergency. This way, you can focus on getting your family to safety while the fire department is on their way. Our goal is to give you and your family more time to get to safety, and get the fire department to the scene faster. This way they have a better chance of saving your home.

What can you do?

First, make sure you have an escape plan. If there’s a fire, what are you going to do? Teach this escape plan to each member of your family.

Next, be sure to have fire extinguishers in easy to access places. But remember, if the fire is out of control… get your family to safety.

Next, get Luna. Luna detects smoke faster, and sends the fire department if there’s an emergency. If you’d like to make your home safer with Luna, click here…
