It all started with Monitoring. Before Luna was born, we were developing monitored home security equipment. 

As a company, we help people monitor their homes with alarms and other security equipment…

We realized that there are great solutions for buglar alarm monitoring. If someone breaks into your house, the alarm company sends the police…

But what about other, more important safty devices in our homes? Why aren’t there monitoring solutions for home smoke detectors?

We see fancy, monitored fire safety systems in schools, churches, public buildings, and more… but why not in the home?

What happens if we aren’t home when a fire breaks out? Or if we can’t escape? If the police can be sent when our buglar alarm sounds, why can’t the fire department be send when our smoke detector sounds?

Luna was born…

These are the questions that inspired Luna. We’ve built other monitored safety equipment. Why not a smoke detector? So what did we do? We built Luna.

There were a number of hurdles to overcome. Such as, dealing with false alarms. When we burn food in the kitchen, we definitely don’t want the fire department showing up at our house! So we gave Luna the ability to tell the difference between burnt food and actual fire. We also added the ability to “hush” false alarms from the Luna App.

We believe that Luna is the best smoke detector in the world.

Yes, there are a few other monitored smoke detectors. But they charge $20.00 or more per month in monitoring fees! Luna… just a few bucks a month to have professional monitoring.
